Sarah “Kate” (Nettles) Hygema
Mrs. Sarah “Kate” Nettles Hygema, age 66, of Bryceville, Fla. died Monday, August 3, in the Florida Hospital Hospice Care Oceanside, Ormond Beach, Fla. following a long illness. She was a native of Lake City and had resided in Jacksonville, Fla for 46 years before moving to Bryceville, Fla. four years ago. She had worked as an executive secretary with Barnett Banks, Jacksonville, Fla for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Kings Road Baptist Church, Dinsmore, Fla. and was preceded in death by her parents, Seth Nettles and Mabel Shaw Nettles.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori (Buck) Holabird of Bryceville, Fla and Melinda (Tom) Knott of Ormond Beach, Fla.: two sons, David P. (Sharon) Hygema of Bryceville, Fla. and Stephen R. (Elizabeth) Hygema of Mexico: one sister, Mary F. Anderson of Lake City, Fla.: Three brothers, Joe Nettles, Earl Nettles and Sammy Nettles all of Lake City, Fla.: Eleven grandchildren also survive.
Graveside Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, August 6, in Oak Grove Cemetery, Union County, Fla. with Rev. Lee Whitaker, Pastor of Kings Road Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 5, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Fla.
