Wife, mother and occasionally secretary. Worked in Lake City for 2 years, got married and started a family, which I stayed home and took of until recently, when I again started working.
Worked for State of F1orida in Tallahassee while Melvin was attending F.S.U.
Sounds rather dull written out like this, BUT it was anything but dull. It remains anything but dull.

50th Reunion
Married Melvin Kight (class of 1958). Lived in Tallahassee while Melvin finished at FSU. We have three daughters, Kristal, Kelli, & Sarah Beth. I had a few secretarial type jobs but mainly was just a stay-at-home mother and housewife. Volunteered a lot when Kelli was in kindergarten and thought I might want to be a teacher. Attended LCCC and then UF. Got my BS in Elem Ed. in 1983, followed by an MA in Media in 1986. Taught 5th grade at Melrose and Five Points. The remainder of my career was as the Media Specialist (Librarian) at Five Points. Retired 5-31-03. I have 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson. They all live in Lake City so I see them often.
Melvin died in June, 1990. Married Joe Kirkland in 1994. Joe has 6 grandchildren. We live south of Lake City on 11 acres and have a place on the Santa Fe River at Wilson Springs. We both like to volunteer, travel, garden, (flowers and vegetables), spend time at the river and with the grandkids.
