Gloria Hunt Shields, age 61, a lifelong resident of Lake City, Columbia, Florida died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She is the daughter of Elmer and Mildred Pohill Hunt and the wife of Gary Shields. They have 2 children; a daughter, April (Jeff) Williams of Jacksonville, Fl; and a son, Robb Shields of Lake City, Fl. Gloria received a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from F.S.U. She taught in the Pinellas and Columbia County School Systems for 27 years and retired in 2001. She was a member of the Lake City Garden Club and a tutor at Eastside Elementary School. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1960. Her complete obituary appeared in the August 12, 2005 edition of the Lake City Reporter Newspaper.
