Received my B.A. in Business Adm. from FSU with my major in accounting. Worked with Tornwall, Lang & Lee, CPA Firm in St. Petersburg, 5/1/64 until 2/67. Presently with Darby, Darby, Odom & Company, CPA, Lake City. Married Gloria one week after graduating and we moved to St. Pete where she taught school under Mr. Waters (our Elem. principal at Central). Passed CPA exam in 1966 and went into National Guard. Stationed at Ft. Polk, La. and Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. After active duty, we returned to Lake City and started our family.

Robert Gary Shields, 64, a resident of Lake City, Florida passed away December 5, 2006 at the Shands Jacksonville Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Shields will be conducted Friday, December 8, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Tate, officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday December 7, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Buck Rogers Foundation, Inc. 1756 SW. Barnett Way Lake City, Florida 32025. This foundation was written by Mr. Shields and his family wishes that all donations be sent here. The primary purpose for which this corporation was organized is to provide relief for families in distress in North Florida. Such distress may arise as a result of a death or disability in the family, loss of home or property due to fire, flood or other casualty, or similar family catastrophe.
