Mrs. Yvonne Carter Griffin, 75, resident of Lake City, Florida, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at her home from an extended illness. Ms. Griffin was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Columbia County.
Mrs. Griffin was a member of the First Full Gospel Church where she enjoyed church activities. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Additionally, she enjoyed sewing and liked to travel, especially spending time at her mountain home in Maggie Valley, North Carolina during the summer.
She is the daughter of the late John Michael and Rachael Bryan Carter. She is the widow of the late James Revels and the widow of the late Talmadge Griffin.
Mrs. Griffin is preceded in death by two sisters Linda Nell Espenship, Janice Lord and one brother Michael Carter.
She is survived by one son Jeffrey Revels (Shirley) Ray City, GA; three daughters Kebra Galt (Odie) Canton, GA; Gaye Lynn Norman (Steve) Lake City, FL; and Jamie Reynolds (Tony) Dunwoody, GA; three sisters Cindy Amy (Bill) St. Augustine, FL; Sue Trione (Paul) Loxley, AL and Tammy Keen (Sammy) Ft. White, FL; seven grandchildren who affectionately know her as Nana: Gaynell Martin (Ryan), Putnam Galt, Eric Slaymaker, Sarah Gille (Justin), Stephen Norman, Ivey Reynolds and Kelly Marie Hall. She is also survived by a special niece Allison Rivers, along with many nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stan Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday November 14, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home chapel.
