Steven Carlton Wetherington

Steven C. Wetherington, 22, a native of Lake City along with his wife Lydia Estess Wetherington were killed in a two car accident on December 26, 1964. Steven, the son of Vera Kinard Register, Lake City, Fl and George C. Wetherington of Gainesville, both of whom survive.
He graduated from Columbia High School, Class of 1960 and a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. He and his wife were living in Orlando and Gainesville, FL where they attended school. He worked for Martin Aircraft. Steve and Lydia had only been married four months.
A double funeral was held at Bethel United Methodist Church with interment in the Church’s Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest Luttrell pastor of Reddick Methodist Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. C. B. Davis pastor of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Sherill-Guerry Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
