Our loving mother Bonnie M. Tomlinson 81 passed away Saturday October 14, 2023, at her new home in Collins Ga. She was so happy after relocating there after living in Saint Augustine Florida for 44 years.
She was born in Lulu, Florida to Leo Sr. and Beulah Tyre on June 30, 1942. Family was very important to her and she cared for her mother Beulah, even taking a job at Bayview after retiring from FHP to be close to her until she passed.
She graduated from Columbia High School in 1960. She met and married our father, Cleo (Tommy) Tomlinson on February 19, 1961. They had Chet in 1963, Kathy in 1966 and little Bonnie in 1968. They provided a great childhood for us, and family gatherings were always a highlight on our lives. We stayed in Sanford, Florida until Dad transferred to St. Augustine, Florida in 1979. They remained married until Dad’s tragic accident on July 13, 1981. We will always remember that she kept us together during that dark period as well as our extended family with the Patrol.
She is preceded by Her Parents Leo Sr and Beulah Tyre her Brothers Leo Jr. and Tal Tyre, her sister Maurcine Robinson, and her Daughter Bonnie Marie. She is survived by her Sister Sandra Hansford. Her son Chet and Daughter Kathy. Brother in-laws Robert (Buddy) Robinson and Robert (Bobby) Hansford. She loved her numerous nephews and nieces. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Dickey, Christopher Tomlinson, Tommy Phillips, Robin Phillips, William (Bryant) Clark, Brandy Clark. Step Grandchildren Michelle Trost, Justin Gordon, Kyler Cole, Bella Cole.
She is survived by her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Christopher Norman Tomlinson, Everette Dickey, Allie, Lily and Shyann Phillips, William Bentley and Madison Clark. Mom was very much all about loving family. She also cared deeply of our extended families with the Florida Highway Patrol and Bayview Assisted Living.
She was truly happy being back in the country with her Lady Bug. She will be dearly missed we will be together again one day. Rest in peace Mom.
