Mr. John C. Outlaw, 76, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Florala, Alabama, Mr. Outlaw was the son of the late Hugh Carlton and Grace Wilder Outlaw Register. He lived in Crestview, Florida prior to moving to Lake City as a child with his late mother. He was a member of the Columbia High School graduating Class of 1960. Mr. Outlaw worked for a few years with the Occidental Chemical Company prior to beginning his career in the construction industry with Donnie Williams Construction. He went on to own and operate the Outlaw Construction Company, which was founded in 1980, for thirty years prior to his health forcing him to retire. Mr. Outlaw was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed watching old westerns and was very knowledgeable about the history of firearms. Mr. Outlaw was a charter member of the Parkview Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, W. Scott Outlaw.
Mr. Outlaw is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Brenda Bennett Outlaw; his children, Donna and Sid Strickland; and Denise and Rev. Billy Young; his grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb and Colby Strickland and Sarah, Abigail and Leah Young all of Lake City; a brother, Penn Outlaw (Margaret) of Patterson, Georgia and two sisters, Gloria Ford (Bob) of Cape Coral, FL and Cecilia Johnson (Ted) of Nocatee, FL.
Funeral services for Mr. Outlaw will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 6, 2018 in the Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service at the church.
