Obituary
Maxine Norris Schwarzbauer, 76, passed way on July 5, 2018. She was born May 31, 1942 in Kissimmee, Florida. She grew up in Lake City. After getting married Maxine lived in Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, and Illinois before moving back to the beaches in 1977.

Maxine graduated from Columbia high school in Lake City, Florida and started working for The Bell Telephone Co in Jacksonville after graduation. She then became a stewardess for United Airlines based out of Chicago, Illinois. After getting married in 1963, she moved to Minnesota and worked for Northernbell becoming the spokeswoman for the new “Trim Line” phone.

In 1977, Maxine moved back to Jacksonville to be near her parents and to raise her three children. She worked as a sales representative for the MJ Daniel company selling to the military for many years and had a great amount of success.

Maxine was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She always put others first and was a social butterfly. Maxine was an ardent volunteer and was often described as a “room mom.” She was an athlete who enjoyed rollerblading, biking, skiing, tennis, and walks on the beach. She enjoyed travel and witnessed much of the world. She was also a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Maxine enjoyed hosting events for her friends and her family. She loved her family very much. Maxine always took care of her children, grandchildren, and parents. Her positivity and willingness to lend a hand inspired all around her. It was rare to find Maxine without a smile on her face.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Demory Boeneke and Stacy Dickey; son, Brad; grandchildren, Rhyse, Emory, Edwin, Barrett, Dylan, and Danalee; brother, Larry (Joy) Norris; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her son-in-law, Bobby Boeneke; father, Mac Norris; mother, Leona and stepfather, Tom Thompson; and her nephews, Carroll and Patrick Norris.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 12 at 11:30am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 212 5th St. N, Jacksonville Beach, with Reverend William Kelly as the celebrant. Following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life luncheon at the Casa Marina Hotel, 691 1st St. N, Jacksonville Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice.
